  • Default length on generate media

Posted by Stuart Fellows on July 8, 2007 at 11:40 am

I’m new to Vegas (7.0e)(Windows) and am struggling a bit with the behavior for generate media. So I try either a drag and drop or an insert generated media. Either way. Then I change the length, which shows correctly in two places, one in the plugin edit window. For example I say 30:000, it gives me a time line in the edit window to add key-frames to 30:000. It also if fine in the trimmer, showing the 30:000. However, in the time line it shows up as the default 10:000. Ctrl-drag only makes it repeat every 10 seconds so that is no help. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong or if this is some type of bug. I can go back to editing the generated media and change the length, but still shows up in the time line as the default 10.

    Any suggestions ?

    TIA

If you change the “length” setting after adding it to the timeline, you have to manually resize it to that new length.

Yep, thank you. I discovered that a little while ago. The reason I didn’t notice it before was in the manual it leads you to the trimmer and using the ctrl or alt drag. What is really required is just dragging it.

    Thank you again!

One tip on using the forums is to do a search for your topic ot just scan through recent questions.

In your case the same question was asked and answered the day before, and appears directly below yours.
