I am remixing footage from a dvd source. The clips are in widescreen. I want to put some effects on some of them, but the effects take up the entire screen. Is there a way to set a region for the effect to play in for each clip?

Also is there an eye dropper tool in Vegas that will let me change some of the colors in the film?

    Thanks.

If the video is really widescreen, then set your project properties to match. More likely, you have 4:3 footage that has a letterbox mask in which case apply your own mask to it. For example, open Pan/Crop and choose (and perhaps modify) on of the letterbox presets.

To change some of the colors and not others, use the Secondary color corrector.
