I have been using Sony Vegas 5 and DVD Architect 2 for a few months now. I recently captured some video footage that has a nasty bar towards the bottom of the screen – for the entire show. I would like to crop out this section of the picture, but I cannot find anything in either manual that explains cropping. Is this possible with either of these programs? Thanks in advance for any help.

You use the Pan/Crop tool. The button to open it is on the right side of your timeline event (media). If you don’t see it, right-click the event and choose Pan/Crop.

Be advised that if you are going to zoom in on your footage, you may see an unnaceptable loss of resolution. If so, your best option may be to mask over the nasty bar instead.
