I am seeking advice of where to look for a Rendering problem in Ver 7 of Vegas.

I am attempting to create a slideshow comprised of digital photos with a transition between each photo take.

On the timeline the duration is 53 minutes.

During rendering, the render process seems to hang, stopping at about 46-50% according to the percent dialog box.

I have defined where the rendered file is to be saved and after stopping the render process I find that an MPG file has been placed in this folder.

Opening the MPEG file in a player, I find (as expected) that not all of the photo images are included in the MPEG file.

I then reduced the number of images (including transitions) to a project length of under 30 minutes an again the render process failed at about 26 minutes of the expected 30 minutes.

Have I failed to set a parameter correctly or is there a bug in the version 7, build 38 …. or is there a digital photo that is causing this problem?

    Your advise is welcome

    John

It could be many things. You could be running out of memory (especially if the photos are high resolution). The CPU could be getting too hot. Or it could be anything else but those are the two things I would check first.

    Thank you Edward

Of the 2 most likely solutions (too large a file size and microprocessor overheating) I think file size is more likely.

Have checked and find that I have about 420 photos in one folder, each photo saved a JPEG of between 900kB and 1.0mB.

I will reduce the images and try again, advising if this fixes the problem.

    Regards

So #1 was the winner – too large of a file size.
