  • Exporting HD motion graphics- drop frames?

Posted by Dan Bennett on September 5, 2009 at 4:34 am

So I have only ever worked in standard definition motion graphics with after effects.
Now i have a project to do in HD and when ever i export I get some serious drop frames. If i take the exported video into premier or FCP and export it, it KINDA fixes it, but its not perfect by any means.

    It’s a 1920×1080 composition.
Simply just going to ADD TO RENDER QUEUE and hitting render.

Hopefully you guys can help me!!!

    Hi Dan,

Im guessing that your setup is not fast enough to play the rendered file
    in quicktime without dropping frames.

Your going to need 2-3 drives in a performance raid or something just as fast
to be able to play a lossless quicktime that large.
I assume that’s how your rendering it.

    What is your animation for?

The lossless render setting is a good choice to render to initially, but after that
it generally gets converted into something a bit more
manageable depending of course upon the final destination.
