I am having a problem in Vegas Movie studio 6(b). I have recently edited a vf file and also made a back up version, but neither will now load. The program stops responding and I have to close it down with the Task Manager. My other vf files all load properly. I can only assume that this vf file has been corrupted. Is there any way that I can repair it. I note that the program automatically generated a BAK file but this doesn’t load either.

It does sound like it’s probably become corrupted in some way. The only recourse would be to send it to Sony and see if they could figure out how and why.

Generally speaking, it’s good to save under a new name periodically. For example, every once in a while change a number at the end of the file name. Then you can go back to the last one that DOES open.

Thanks. I will see what Sony says about this. If I get a reply I’ll post it on this query.

I have resolved the problem. The vf file did finally load after a long, long search of its files, but was unusable as it was too slow to react to any editing. I therefore rendered the file and saved the rendered file as a new vf file. This loaded quickly and I can complete the editing from that. Fortunately I had completed the video editing leaving just titles and music to add.
