  • Looping audio WHILE playing video possible?

Posted by Rodney Ballard on December 10, 2005 at 8:18 pm

I am using the Vegas 4.0 software, the watered down version of Vegas 6.0.
I would like to trim a portion of audio and play that portion over the entire lenght of a short video clip, i.e. a cars motor sound over my son being pulled around in a wagon. I have been able to get the sound I want by trimming the audio event but when I go to loop it with the video it just plays it once, finishes the video and THEN loops back around. The audio clip is shorter than the video clip.

This program (even though it’s the smaller version) is much more powerful than I thought it would be. However, it seems to be able to do much more than the manual tells me about. Is there a place to get a FULL manual. I find the pragram can do this or that purely by accident some times.

    Thanks,

Is this the Movie Studio version (or whatever name it was at that point in time)? What if you just copy that motor noise and then paste it to the timeline multiple times until it fills the length of the video?

Yes, I am using ‘Vegas Movie Studio +DVD’, version 4.

I tried copy and pasting and it worked. Thank you for the tip.

I was able to change the media size under preferences, tried again with no luck. Then I noticed that when I go to ‘prepare/burn’ it takes me to the message window, click next to a ‘make dvd’ window where it shows the media storage amount PLUS a “Free storage space in the selected folder:” with only about 21MB available. Does the program send the entire dvd to some holding tank (folder) and THEN to the burner? I looked under Win Expl for the folder (to try and up the free storage amount) but could not find it.

    Still stumped!!!

Yes it does. In fact, you should really have DOUBLE the disk space free to allow it to have plenty of space.

It turns out that version 4 of Movie Studio+DVD does NOT support DL DVDs, but the lastest version 6 does. Now I will ponder the upgrade.

    Thanks,
