Splitting stereo tracks into separate mono tracks
I’m somewhat noew to Vegas. I often record a boom mic to the left channel and a PZM or other mic to the right channel on the camera. When I capture into Vegas I get one stereo track. How do I split this into two separate mono tracks?
I know this should be really easy, but I can’t seem to find the answer in the manual, online or in several books I have on Vegas.

First, its always good practice to name each track with a description. One easy way is to click (select) on the track header and press F2 (or right-click and select rename) and add your descriptive name for the track.
The simplest way would be to first right-click on the audio track header and select duplicate track. you now have two tracks each with two channels (left & right).
On the first audiotrack, right-click on the audio event and select channels-left only. On the second audio track, right-click on the audio event and select channels-right only.
You now have two seperate audio channels!
