Sony Vegas Rendering Issue
Hi, So whenever I Render something on sony vegas, it renders the video into 34 second segments. I don’t know how to fix this and have tried for around 2 weeks now, and if this has anything to do with it, I am rendering them to my external HDD and in the 1080p 60p YUV format.

Sounds like it’s rendering in 2 or 4 GB chunks. Check your file sizes. Are they they same? 4GB? Since you are rendering to an external HDD, make sure that it is formatted to NTFS which permits unlimited file sizes. If it’s FAT 32, then you will be limited to 4GB.

Sounds like your external hard drive is formatted for FAT32 which, as Wayne points out, has a 4GB file size limit. If so, you need to convert it to NTFS for rendering larger files.

How do I format it?

Very easy. Open Windows Explorer, select Drive, and right-click. Select format which will bring up another small window. Under File System there is a drop-down window. Select NTFS and then Start. BEWARE! You must first copy everything from that hard drive that you want to keep since everything will be erased.

Yea, if you don’t want to loose everything I would convert it. Microsoft has instructions on their web site:
