Video: Stream attributes could not be determined
Hi.
I have been experimenting with a new workflow to include DaVinci Resolve.
I’m shooting in RAW and then utilizing DaVinci to output/deliver the media, then I’d use SVP13 as my NLE. The final video from DaVinci plays fine in my VLC player.
However, when I add the media to SVP 13 it shows up in the timeline on an audio track. And when I click on the video in the SVP13 Explorer tab, it shows “Video: tream attributes could not be determined”
The two files I’m working with are described by MediaInfo below:
Anyone have pointers? Are there some codecs that need to be installed in SVP 13?

I’m guessing that Vegas Pro doesn’t support the raw output from the AJA Xena in a QuickTime wrapper. I’m not sure why it can’t open Avid DNxHD files though. They should work.
My advice, and you’re not going to like this… if you want to work with 10-bit 4:2:2 QuickTime files… buy a Mac. It would be so much easier. Seriously, Vegas Pro is the wrong NLE for this kind of workflow.
Your only option is convert these files to something Vegas Pro can edit. Perhaps convert them to CineForm AVI coming out of DaVinci?

No Macs in my house – not gonna happen. I’m a Linux and Windows guy… Windows 10 and a lot of beef for my NLE workstation
Anyway, I did output to AVI Uncompressed YUV 422 10-bit and it did come right in to SVP 13 – you were spot on!
As to the other formats that Resolve outputs, do you know if any of these formats work?
Cineon
DPX
EXR
easyDCP
MXF OP-Atom
MXF OP1A -
The only other format that Vegas Pro accepts from that list is MXF but I believe it’s looking for either MPEG2 or AVC/H.264 in an MXF container.
AVI is the native format of Windows so I would just stick with that. If Resolve gives you codec options, you could download the free GoPro Studio to get the CineForm codec. That will be much smaller than uncompressed.
