Fade in TEXT and then SCROLL OUT – Sony Vegas
Posted by Kenny Roger moise on November 18, 2015 at 5:23 pmHi There,
I am making a video project and I want a particular effect on some sentences
I want a sentence to fade in (which I did by stretching the edge of the text media) and then after a few seconds, I want the same text to scroll and leave the screen.
Can this be done in Sony Vegas? I am new to this software and I am just a month old. Forgive me if it is already answered. If so, please provide me the link

November 18, 2015 at 8:32 pmI am confident that what is required can be done in Vegas. Unfortunately I so not understand what is meant by ” stretching the edge of the text media”. Elaboration or perhaps a screenshot might prove useful.

November 18, 2015 at 8:48 pmIf I understand you correctly, you fade the sentence in by placing your cursor at the top left of the text event until it changes to a 1/4 circle shape and then drag it to the right as much as desired.
The readout is usually in frames and, in NTSC world, a sec. = 24 or 30 frames.
To have it scroll off, repeat the above process but do it to the right edge of the text event and drag it to the left.
A fade is the default transition so find the scroll effect you want in the Transitions tab (there are several that will do what you want so start playing) and drag and drop it on top of the fade. If you want to try a different one, just drag and drop it over top of what you just did as the new FX will replace the old one.
Have fun playing 🙂 -

November 19, 2015 at 6:47 amThank you Mike. You understood me well. Unfortunately, English is not my native language.
Now, in my list of Transitions, there is no specific category called Scroll Effect. However, under Video FX, there is Scroll Effect
What I want actually is ..
My text fades in (I got this one already)
It stays for 20 seconds (I got this too)
I want it to scroll towards the left of the screen (how do I get this done?)
I want it to scroll off so that the next sentence can fade in .. -

November 19, 2015 at 11:25 amKenny, your English is just fine so don’t worry about it.
Try the Push Left transition. I think that will do what you want. If it doesn’t, try one of the Slide transitions.
