DIVX doesn’t appear in rendering custom template options
I am using a Sony Handycam, Windows 7, Sony Vegas Video Pro 13. Am pretty new to all this. My footage is all full 1080P, I probably need to go down to 720p renderings for shorter file sizes for now. I need to render in either MP4 or AVI format, and the codec needs to be DIVX. Then I can watch my videos on our big-screen HD TV…playing them through a USB stick. The manual says the TV only supports DIVX codec. SO I downloaded and installed DIVX pro ver. 9.1. Rebooted computer. Loaded some short clips on timeline, selected “render as”. I don’t even see an option for .MP4…so I select Video for Windows (AVI) and open the custom template window. When I open Video Format option, DIVX codec does not appear! What do I need to do to get it to appear? I definitely have DIVX Pro installed, it shows up in Windows Programs and Features list.
