Hello. So I’m an editor when it comes for reviewing games. But the project I’ve been working on keeps crashing after being open for a few seconds as shown here: (https://www.mediafire.com/?oxb4znstds9d76z )
This is message I get when it crashes.

Most of my files are ts. and mp4. But I have tried converting my files, uninstalling plug ins, uninstalling Vegas, changing my GPU, uninstalling quick time and Itunes and many other remedies I’ve seen around, but nothing has worked so far. I’ve also given the veg file to another editor and it didn’t crash on him t all. The files work in any other project just fine. And I’ve had to re-edit this project twice as I would save the project, go to bed, come to it the next morning and it would be like this now. It’s only with this project and I was so close to completing it. If anyone can help me find a solution that would be fantastic! Thank you!

Now that Wayne has done heaps of work with you to get you to use Vegas-friendly Media, and you are still getting freeze on launching Vegas12, please investigate the following.

What is your GPU Make and Model and driver date and revision being used?

Patrick, in that 102 post thread, had/have you investigate the following Issues?:

    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\dx_video_grovel_x64.log
    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\svfx_video_grovel_x64.log
    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\ocio_x64.log
    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\dx_grovel_x64.log
    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\vst_grovel.log
    File: C:\Users\Patrick\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\gpu_video_x64.log

    These are flagging your :

    VSTs – Audio Plugs
    DXs – Audio Plugs
OCIO – Possible driver error too.

    . . and . .

GPU – Graphics Card, most likely needs an updated driver.

I noticed that you’ve “switched” paths to the vegas120.exe – any reason for this? This may have much bearing on your inability to launch Vegas cleanly IF your VSTs, DXs are looking elsewhere.

BTW, I would like to thank hugely the people, especially Waggie – Wayne Wagg, for calmly and patiently helping and supporting you with the issues you are having.

    Grazie

OK, I just had Sound Forge go “sour” on me and needed to re-install. I had 4 attempts and had a similar, no0t the same as you, Phone-Home response from SF10. Did some research and when I did “Install As Administrator” that worked and SF is now running.

Now, I am not saying that this is conclusive to rectifying YOUR issues, but give it a go. Install as Admin has been a recent development as a solution for many Users. For me it was a night n day experience.

    1. GPU Specs
    2. I don’t think we ever looked into the that in the other thread
    3. I didn’t think I moved it at all, I mean I did do a system restore earlier so that might have moved it
    4. what’s SF? I don’t think I’ve used it before or installed as administrator before. What is this and do you think it would help with the issue?

    1. Please confirm or deny that your GPU is part of your CPU or a separate Graphics Card.

    2. Well do so.

    3. To me it looks like you had.

    4. SF = Sound Forge. Research how to install as “Administrator”.

    1. I’m not sure how to confirm or deny this as actual computer hardware is not my specialty. So here’s what I got when looking into my settings.

    2. I checked on the forums and it mainly consisted of uninstalling Itunes, qucik time, or other softwares but I did so and nothing happend.

    3. If your saying the files changed location I did change the location of them so I could tell new renders from the old ones.

    4. Is there a trail for that and do you think it would be required to fix this?

    1. Ask the supplier of the PC.

    2. Sure. Access MS KB and research how there.

    3. Oh, I can see two distinct PATHS.

    4. No.

    1. I can’t tell myself, but I do have a dell Inspiron 5537 if that helps at all.
    2. whats MS and KB?
    3. Define paths. Because I did copy and paste the file onto my desktop before when we tried the different files out if that’s what your saying

WAIT, I managed to get everything copied into a new file….and it’s not crashing anymore, this didn’t work before but now it is!…I’ll see if it works tomorrow morning

    1. Asking DELL would be the way for you to go.

    2. MS = Microsoft. KB = Knowledge Base.

    3. ” Define paths.” A PATH here means where a File is lying on your PC.
