Rendering Video with Frame Size 1920 x 1038
This may be a silly question but I’ll ask anyway…
I’m fairly new to Sony Vegas and am currently working on a video with a frame size of 1920 x 1038. Upon rendering the tiniest of black bars appear even when rendering with a custom frame size that matches the project and are visible upon upload to YouTube. Anyway, my question is this: is there a way to make a video with that frame size take up the full space of the YouTube video frame (make the itty bitty black bars disappear)? I tried to pan and crop them but that only either makes the black bars bigger or the video way too zoomed in. Is what I’m trying to accomplish without jeopardizing the actual content of the video possible?

That’s because YouTube doesn’t support custom frame sizes. Standard HD video 1920×1080. if you feed YouTube anything else you will have black bars.

Yes, crop it to 1920×1080 or stretch it to 1920×1080 in Vegas Pro.

Then you’re not cropping properly. Set your project to 1920×1080. Open Pan/Crop on an Event and right-click the windows and select Match Output Aspect. That will match the crop to the projects aspect and remove any black bars. It will however cut off the left and right sides of the video to compensate for the aspect difference.

It’s impossible. You can either have black bars, or crop the sides of the video out, or stretch your video, but the last two change the actual content. You can’t put a round peg in a square hole. 1920 x 1038 is not 1920 x 1080. (it’a a math problem) 😉
