  Major Downsampling Problem (Jaggies) with AE

  I am shooting 5.6K RAW still images, and using AE CS4 to compile and render timelapse sequences. However, when AE downsamples the composition to 1080p, I am seeing horrendous jagged edges on lines:

  Can I do anything to smooth these out? Can I change the sampling method? In photoshop, this kind of thing never happens.

  a few things come to mind. Plug in wise, Re Vision inc makes a plug called smooth kit that would help that a lot. BUT – this should not be happening in the first place. If its just stills, resize them in photoshop first, thats what I generally do if I am not scaling it up much. Your image, to me, looks like its set at half resolution for the WHOLE image. Check your comp and render settings. It just looks like
  your set at half rez.

  Might be too late for Tom, but just had this problem and figure it out. You can change the sampling mode per clip, so instead of Bilinear, use Bicubic.
