Rendering to 800×70 px for wide outside screen
Hello! How can I render a movie for outside (screen of the building) with the 800×70 resolution?

You need to use an encoder that doesn’t care about the dimension of the video. Lagarith is one such codec. You’ll need to download and install the Lagarith codec and then make a template for it under Video for Windows (*.avi). Then use that to render your video. Note: Anyone who wants to play the video back will also need the Lagarith codec. If this is not acceptable you could render Uncompressed and then anyone can play it back but the video could get quite large without any codec to provide compression.
If you want to use a codec like MPEG4 you will need to increase the resolution because you can’t render smaller than 144 in the vertical. That would mean you would need to render to 1600×144 to maintain the same aspect ratio as your original 800×70 video. (actually 800×72).

I just used Vegas 13 to make a 800-70 compressed avi and an 800-72 wmv and both play in Windows media player, and I don’t have that codec.

You can easily render out in any quicktime flavor in that or any other
resolution with no issue. You simply need to dig into the quicktime render

That’s good to know Steve. I only experimented with mp4, avi, and WMV. Mp4 rendered out but would not play in Media Player or VLC. I’m sure there’s other render formats that allow custom resolution sizes as well. By the way I also changed my project settings to 800 x 70. Just because it may not be available in the drop down settings does it mean you can’t manually type it in yourself in some cases.

The Quicktime format will!In almost all cases you can manually type in yourself.
