    Hey,
So basically I just want to know how to do the rubber stamp effect in vegas, you know like you see “FAIL” or something similar on videos sometimes? In particular, the animation part of it? I can probably figure out the rest.

    Thanks 🙂

If you don’t need true 3D, you could create a graphic of a hand with a stamp and use Track Motion to animate it moving onto the video and then off again. Once it animates on, have your stamp image appear under it so that as it moves off the stamp is revealed and remains over the video. I would also use some audio to emulate the stamp sound to complete the effect.

You’ll have to make both of these graphics images in a graphics program with a transparent alpha channel so that the background video shows through. Save them as PNG files in your graphics program so that Vegas Pro can make the alpha channel transparent over your video.

Another way is to simply shoot video against a green screen of a hand operating a real stamp. The actual stamp image left behind can be created in Photoshop or a comparable image editor. You could also get the actual sound of the stamp on the video you shoot.
