First Render in Sony Vegas PRO 9.0

I have just finished my first feature film. Its 80 minutes, 11 tracks, and SFX. Its been a 7 year project and I want to make sure I render it correctly. It was filmed SV (standard video)… Can someone please give me detailed steps on rendering this project. Im using a Toshiba laptop with bells and whistles along with my hard drive. The footage is 2.71 KB…

I dont have DVD architect, but just want to get it on a DVD in a timely manner. How long will the render take and Ive heard you can double the speed in the rendering process. Also need to remove the windows scan window that pops up when Im editing…

Thanks and by helping me complete this will get you a producer credit in my movie.

Make sure that you have Vegas Pro 9.0d. Then you can simply use Tools | Burn Disc… | DVD….

Without a program like DVD Architect, this is the only way that you can make a DVD with Vegas Pro 9.0.

If you want to use another DVD authoring program, then you can render your video to MainConcept MPEG-2 using the appropriate “DVD Architect…” template and render your audio as Dolby Digital AC-3 giving both files the same name just with different extensions (*.mpg, *.ac3) and use whatever program you’d like to author your DVD.

And if you are going with another DVD Authoring software, go with
VSO ConvertXtoDVD.
And if you wanna render out a hard copy, choose the Quicktime Photo-jpeg
format, this will ensure a manageable file size, with quality intact and
compatibility to whomever you deliver it to, along with all other system
or software across the board.

John, I stand to be corrected but I’m pretty sure that, without DVDA, you can’t render an AC-3 file.

That use to be true for version of Vegas Pro that did not have the Burn DVD option. Vegas Pro 9.0d comes with the Dolby Digital AC3 Pro encoder without the need to purchase DVD Architect because it can burn DVD’s directly from the timeline.

I’ve always had DVDA so I had no idea this had been fixed in Pro 9.

It was still good to point out that some versions of Vegas Pro do not come with the AC3 encoder. Luckily for Rob, Vegas Pro 9 does.
