  • Possible to set Motion Tracker as target for another Motion Tracker?

Posted by Brad Nelson on August 15, 2009 at 4:18 pm

    Hello,

Basically what I’m trying to do is this: I have Actor A with green over his eyes crouching down into frame. I have footage of Actor B doing the same motion (no green on eyes). I have good motion tracks on both layers, I just need to attach Actor B’s eyes to Actor A’s.

I also have a mask keyframed to follow just actor A’s eyes, if all else fails could I set the mask as the target?

Thanks for all help and tips,
    Brad

Sounds like first you need to stabilize your “B-eyes” so they stay in static position. You probably need to stabilize scale, rotation and position. I’d precompose the result.

Then track the A-eyes and apply the tracking data to the precomped B-eyes.

Of course this is the general approach and depending on the details of the footage you’ll run into problems that will need smoothing out.

    Hope this helps,

    Barend
