  how to change preview setting

  In the past, when I moved the ‘Time Ruler’, the movie moved forward as well.
  now, I need to press-hold ALT key if I want that the movie In the preview window will move together with the ‘Time Ruler.

  with the ALT key presses- it seems to be slower and the effects wont change as well, not until Ill leave the Time Ruler.

  any help please?

  You probably turned Live Update off.

  thanks Todd, that solved half of my problem.
  the preview window now responds to the ‘Time Ruler’, but the ‘effect window’ still freezes until I release the mouse.

  any suggestion?
