  • Split Screen View in Preview Window Glitching Out

I got the new Vegas update last night, and I’m wondering if this is causing it. When I click on “Split Screen View” in the preview window to compare some color grading I’ve done against the original footage I get a number of problems. It either doesn’t do anything, shows different frames from the same video event (or even the previous event that I was previewing) on the half of the screen that the FX are bypassed, or will show some kind of pixelated mess that looks like a blown up image.

I have an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 graphics card, which has been serviceable for years. This is happening on more than one project on different hard drives. When I have the preview set to Good or Best the split screen works intermittently, but still glitches out after a few tries.

Anyone else having this problem, and can it be fixed? And I want to try rolling back my version of Vegas.

Edit: I’m going to try downloading a new driver for my GeForce later today and see if that makes a difference, but I’ve avoided doing that before because I get more bugs when I’ve updated my drivers before.

Not seeing anything like that on my side with this new update, this built is even a lot more solid…

I didn’t install the new Nvidia driver yet, but after restarting my computer today it’s much more stable on the project I tried. It’s still a little off-it removed effects on the entire preview instead of the left half, the way it’s set, sometimes-but nowhere near as bugged out.

ok, kinda want to encourage you not to install those Nvidia drivers
    quite just yet!

I definitely won’t if I don’t feel it’s a last resort (i.e. if I stop being too lazy to install them). Just about every Nvidia driver I’ve installed has caused such glitchy graphics problems that I immediately rolled them back.

Or create a restore point before you install it, so you can do a system
    restore if things get worst.

Ugh. It’s still glitching out. How do I roll back Vegas to the previous build I had? Unfortunately I don’t have restore points.
