My seldom used laptop running Vegas 8, will not import MP4 files, shot on a Sony EX3 and extracted from the CF card using Sony XDCAM EX clip browser. I can see them and play them direct from the laptop HD or the CF card. I keep getting a “file is corrupt” or “an unexpected error” message.

Because you need to upgrade Sony Vegas.
You do realize 5 versions of Vegas has passed for
it to keep up with current media.

What build of Vegas Pro 8.0 are you using? You should be using 8.0c build 260.

Can you post a small sample file? I’d be happy to try it with my copy of Vegas Pro 8.0c and see if it’s something unique to your computer.

    Steve,
as I mentioned in my post, Vegas 8 is on a seldom used laptop, so no need to upgrade it since it never really cuts projects. My question is a legitimate one that did not require the snarky response.
