Possible to hotswap audio files?
Okay so I have an avi that has two embedded audios in it, one of the audios I have already done some editing on, stretching it to fix sync problems and the like.
Problem is the audio had some issues that I needed to fix in audacity, and I fixed said audio with a complete .wav of the file before I did any editing in vegas, so now if I put it back into the project I’ll have to sync it all up again.
The filesize of the original file is the same… because it is the same file, just with some of the audio fixed. Is there a way to tell or trick Vegas into accepting the edited audio file, thinking its the original one that’s embedded in the avi so I don’t have to do the Vegas editing again?

No. Vegas has no concept of compound clips like some other NLE’s (FCP X comes to mind). You could create a nested project with just the video and audio and drop that into your main project and it will behave as one piece of media. You could also re-mux the video and audio back into one AVI file with another tool. You could also just group the audio and video on the timeline and it will behave as if it were one file as well.
