  Color Correction on a Macbook Pro.

  Hello,

  I have looked long and hard for the answer and I have not yet found it. Please excuse me and be kind to link the appropriate site or forum if this has already been addressed, Thank you.

  I own a 17 inch MBP and I work in FCP and AE. My work is mostly geared towards the web and desktop environments.

  I have begun to color correct my work however, I cannot afford nor keep a grading monitor and/or external video card.

  Is it possible to calibrate the MBP screen to achieve good results in color correction? What are the conditions and limitations?

  Please advise.

  I will stay optimistic and attempt to overcome the difficulties of CC under both inconsistent and inaccurate conditions.

  built in to Mac OS X (System Preferences > Display > Color > Calibrate… then choose ‘Expert mode’). then setup AE’s color management in project settings.

  Thanks for that.

  I have calibrated it, but I wonder what use it is, when you can manually adjust the brightness.
  Is there a brightness setting considered as “standard”? I heard about four to five notches under full brightness.
