First, I know this has been addressed before but every situation is a little unique.

    I have 2 issues.

    1. The playback in Vegas 13 of the GoPro 1080 60P footage is choppy and hard to edit. I’m managing to get through it, but it’s been a chore at times.

    2. I’m combining with 1080 60i footage shot with an AX2000.

When I started my project I matched the settings to the GoPro footage. My end product will be posted to YouTube and Vimeo. With the possibility of a DVD also.

Your thoughts and recommendations regarding the choppy playback and project settings.

    Thanks.

Use Proxy files. It’s on Page 102 of the manual.

About GoPro and 1080p60. Here is a long thread but includes a lot of info and some workarounds.
The problems with GoPro 1080p60 is in the Vegas 12/13 AVC decoder. V11 is just fine.

Are you viewing the GoPro footage as is/without any Fx added? If so, it sounds like a possible hardware issue. If you are adding Fx or any other adjustments, try lowering the preview quality or pre-render to RAM first. On another note, I have noticed that high fps is taxing and many players have a hard time with it. For example, Quicktime has a very hard time playing 720p @ 120fps, but Windows Media Player handles it just fine.
