Issues with playback when shooting 24fps
I am trying to create more cinematic looking HD projects and was directed toward 24fps. The problem is that whenever there is motion in the frame or in the camera we get a lot of jutting? Is there additional settings within Vegas that need to be applied when editing 24fps that can smooth out this issue?

Assuming your Vegas project setting match your media settings, then it’s not Vegas doing it. Your shutter speed might be too high. That can make things stroby looking. At 24p you typically don’t want to go higher than a 48th of a second.
In general, you can still have issues with pans at a specific rate. Above and below that rate come out better.

If you are going to shoot 24p then you need to learn how to use slow deliberate movements. No fast pans. All of this needs to be controlled in camera. By the time you get to Vegas Pro you are too late.

Ok so this is what I was afraid of, that the problem was in camera. I will play with the shutter speed and be more conscious of my physical movements going forward. That being said is there any ‘fix’ that I can apply to the project that I already shot? Thanks Everyone Greatly Appreciated.

Not that I know of. If your frames and too much movement in them you’ve already lost the motion information. You might try a retiming tool like Twixtor to create the missing frames? Not sure how good a job it can do.
