Audio Issue Vegas Pro 10.0.e
Posted by Marlen Mathers on August 23, 2014 at 1:00 amWeird issue with an audio track in SVP 10. I have a track that the audio plays fine in the timeline for the first clip. However, after that clip, all following clips in that same timeline have no audio playing back. I can see that the audio track has sound via the waveform, and the native files have the audio playing correctly, but no audio is produce in the timeline.
Any ideas as to what I may have wrong?
Thanks in advance.

August 23, 2014 at 2:22 pmThe screenshot doesn’t say much. Post the veg file without media.
BTW, there are no clips on the timeline – everything on the timeline is an event.

August 23, 2014 at 2:22 pmTrack16? You’ve got an Audio Event with its Vol pulled way down.
Also T16 has a RED mark at top of the Audio Meters? What does that mean?

August 23, 2014 at 2:56 pmI think the red bar represents the event is “clipping”. As for the other events, the volume is purposely lowered. However, other events in the track are full volume and still are not audible.
I’ll reveal the master audio bus and post the veg file without the media.

I’ve got your VEG open – opened in VP12.
OK….
1] I CAN play my own Audio in Track 16. It isn’t “muted”.
2] I did notice that you don’t have any default SFXs applied to T16. I don’t see that as an issue, but I DO see the READ Automation option has got a RED Line through it. Again this SHOULDN’T affect the issues here either.
I’m thinking that as you’ve done everything that you should and EXPECT to have the Media Audio play, then possibly that T16 has got mangled, somehow.
Try INSERTING a NEW Audio Track above and moving the Audio to this new T16.
As I say, my audio plays fine.

August 23, 2014 at 5:39 pmGrazie – what’s weird is that I did try that before posting for help. I first “duplicated” the audio track with no success – same drop out situation. I then “inserted” an audio track and cut & pasted the audio into the new track…again no success.
This time I created a new audio track at the very top of the timeline and cut & pasted track 16 audio into this new audio track…and Success! It’s playing perfectly in this new track position in the timeline. Not quite sure why, but would be interested in hearing from anyone who has a thought on this.
As usual – thanks again for the people helping out in this forum. It’s always my “go to” place to get answers and solve problems.
Production can now continue…
