  Seperating Audio and Video

  I have used Sony Vegas Pro before and know it is very easy to separate a given clip’s audio and video if the are contained in the same file. I just bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13 and it seems i cannot do this simple action. Has Sony taken out this feature for the low end versions of Vegas? I have asked this before in this forum and haven’t found an answer. Does Movie Studio 13 not have this feature?

  If all you have is simple edit mode and it does not have the group/ungroup features then your only option I can think of is what I stated in my original reply.

  Add the media to the timeline as video or audio only. To expand on that, here is a link to the Movie Studio Help file show how this can be done. Read the section titled, “Adding multiple files and creating events”

  Feature is still there for that also as Norman pointed out.
  BUT, The main question here is… Why have you gone backwards
  from using Vegas Pro to using Movie Studio?

  Or at least have MS13 Platinum. Then with advanced mode you have the normal Vegas user interface and most of features you are used to.

  It does seem silly without explanation. My experience with Vegas Pro came from an old job I used to have. I’ve never actually had access to it personally. I don’t have access to that anymore, so I bought Movie Studio.

  Thank you for helping me to find a work around. I am disappointed this feature is not on the Movie Studio 13 version, but the work around is easy enough. Thank you again.
