  Vegas color grade problem

  Hi all!

  I shoot weddings on Canon DSLR’s. I then take the footage and transcode to DNxHD before editing. I edit 2 montages throughout the wedding DVD which always give me trouble. Each montage is around 3 minutes (the length of the song I’m using.)Each clip in the montage is between 2 and 6 seconds meaning there are a lot of clips. Once I have edited I start colour correcting/grading. After grading a certain amount of clips with magic bullet looks vegas crashes everytime.

  I think the problem is with my computer as the more clips I work with the more I feel the processor/ram) is under pressure
  (Core i7 2600, 16GB RAM, 1GB Radeon 7750)

  What I am wondering is whether or not once I edit all the clips together can I render the whole thing out with markers at the start of each clip so that I can apply color effects at each marker reducing the amount of clips I am dealing with in one project.

  According to several posts on the Sony Vegas forum, several clips on your timeline in DNxHD format is a problem.
  Try MXF format instead. I use it all the time and Vegas loves it 🙂
