When recording audio, (usually just one or two tracks) the wave form will show during the recording but as soon as you hit stop it will disappear and there’s nothing there. The weird thing is if you drag the take out of the explorer window onto the timeline elsewhere it just a sliver of a clip. But, if you look in the folder the take will be the right size as if it recorded. It’s totally random when it occurs and on what track but it happens a lot. Maybe one out of every 5 takes. It will not play back in almost anything (Windows media player, Quicktime, Nuendo, Reaper) although I have gotten some of them to play in VLC. If I try to open them with Sound Forge (10) I get “The File May Be Corrupt” error. Any ideas what could be causing this? Have been using Vegas for Audio since version 5 although we did skip 11 and 12. This does not happen in 10 on the same machine.

I have an Samsung 840 Pro SSD for my system drive.
Recording to WD Black audio drive.

Guess not. I’ll just talk to myself as per usual.
