I have an I-7 8gb computer that crashes when I try to watch tutorial on newly installed gopro studio. Gopro studio opens but as I click through it crashes on the final page.to a blue screen. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the “Import tutorial” from the Help menu?

If yes, then that runs fine for me. I cannot find anything else about tutorials to watch in the application. I have free GoPro Studio 2.0.1. I don’t have premium or professional.

Yes, that is what I was trying to watch. It is the free download from gopro.

No you do not need it at all. I have put my GoPro MP4 files straight into the Vegas timeline.

The AVC video in the GoPro files is very compute intensive to decode, so *IF* your PC has trouble keeping pace for full frame rate playback, then the conversion to Cineform AVI files can help, or using the Vegas smart proxy feature can help.

The video from the GoPro does not work well at all with Vegas12. It chokes terribly. I think in Vegas 11 is works OK. So I use the GoPro studio to edit my footage from the GoPro before importing it into Vegas.
You would have thought Vegas would have fixed this.

For me, I have only had playback performance problems with 1080p60 files in VP12. A test showed VP11 was okay with the same file. 30p files are probably still sapping the CPU some but it has not be a problem for me.

It is an issue. I have had a bug report to Sony for a couple of months now. I gave them a VEG file and 30 second sample videos. Who knows it they will ever say anything.
