Hello! I installed a new card into my editor that came with some software “AVer MediaCenter 3d”. I do not like capturing with this program but I cannot capture with the Sony capture device. I am going component in to the card from my MX70 video mixer. I can capture using the AV/C Tape Recorder/Player option, but not the AverMedia BDA Analog Capture option. It tells me it could no be opened and to make sure it is not in use by another program (which to my knowledge it is not, I even went to task manager to close any background operations.) Has anyone run into this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There probably are not any good options for capturing a component input coming directly into a computer. Most recommendations in this group suggest using a Canopus device to convert analogue video to a digital form. I use an old video camera that performs the same function by utilizing a “pass through” capability built into the camera. As you know, Vegas certainly does not support this kind of capture.

Thank you for your reply. The quality from my canopus just wasn’t up to snuff for me so I was hoping to go component any way possible. I’m still having this problem, even with a new card. Sony Capture just won’t let me select the card.
