  • Sony Vegas Pro 12 Won’t Import Any Video Files

Posted by Joe Bay on March 9, 2014 at 1:49 am

I’m tired of this thing. I used Sony Vegas before yesterday, everything was fine. Today, I import a MP4, M2TS, and TS and they didn’t want to open. I have QuickTime; Latest version. When I tried to import m2ts, it says that could not be found. I tried TS and the audio show up but no the video. I have K-lite codec. I tried converting the files to avi and still the same. Doesn’t want to import them. Help me. This problem started now.

[Joe Bay] “I have K-lite codec.”

You have correctly identified the problem. The K-Lite codec pak has replaced all of the high quality codecs that you paid Sony for with free codecs of questionable quality that don’t work with Vegas Pro.

Uninstall K-Lite and any other codec-paks, uninstall Vegas Pro, re-boot your computer, re-install Vegas Pro and pray that it fixes the problem. Otherwise there is no solution other than rebuilding your PC and never installing another codec-pak again because they don’t always uninstall cleanly and they usually mess up Vegas Pro.

The K-lite codec is your problem, Get rid of it and restart
your system. Then see what happens!
