TV style baseball scoreboard in After Effects?
I would like to create an on-screen baseball scoreboard like you see on all baseball broadcasts.
Any ideas on how to do this?
Are there any templates out there? If not, is there a good place to start?
My first thought was to design the basics in photoshop with tons of layers (which would include all possible data). Then just display or hide data as it is needed so only the needed info is on screen as the game goes along.
Any better ideas? I HOPE!!! haha

Hi Dave,
I am talking about the graphics you see on the TV screen while the game is being played. Score, the pitch count, outs, etc.

Luckily this is scoring a pre-recorded game.
Would you recommend doing the design in photoshop with tons of layers?
For instance, under one teams score field I have many layers to cover possible scores. Like 1 through 10. And when I need to show a score of 4, i just hide all of the layers except the 4 layer.
Does that even work in After Effects? Can you import files form photoshop and keep the layers AND manipulate them inside AE?
One more question for you. If this is to be broadcast in HD, what resolution do you think I should create the files with in Photoshop?

Oh OK, so you would suggest doing the basic background (diamonds, transparent fields, logos, etc.) in photoshop but do all the text in AE?
Sounds like that would be much easier if it works and a much smaller file.
