    Hello all,

I’ve read through a bunch of the threads on here and I believe I have a firm grasp on the most ideal render settings for my project.

    Source:

    Canon HG10, shot @ 1440×1080, 24mbps

    Destination:

BD-R disc for playback on Blu-Ray Players

    My proposed render settings:

    Sony AVC, Blu-Ray Video Stream, 1440×1080 60i, 8 mbps

I usually like to just select the pre-made template and leave the rest of the settings alone. However, I’m wondering if I should up the bit rate to 15 mbps. I’m not too concerned with disc space as the video is only 22min long, but of course, my goal is to create a disc that will playback as close to the quality of the native camera footage as possible. Am I correct in thinking that I should raise the bit rate to 15mbps?

Yes. get it as close to the original bit-rate as possible if you want to retain the original quality. 15Mbps should look great.
