Changing from 32bit to 64bit, does this affect anything?
I may soon be upgrading from Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit, will this affect any Vegas project files I currently have? It’ll be the same version, just 64bit.

It won’t affect your projects, but you might want to make sure your older version of Vegas will run on Win7-64, since you didn’t state what version you’re using.

If you use any third party video plug-ins and use the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro, none of your 32-bit video plug-ins will work so you’ll either need to buy the 64-bit version of those plug-ins or stick with the 32-bit version of Vegas Pro 10c.

You may find that dreaded out of memory errors no longer occur with 64 bit Vegas, as was the case for me.
You can still have 64 bit Vegas run alongside 32 bit Vegas up until Version 11. Vegas Pro 12 only is available in 64 bit.
As John said, any 3rd party plugins you use will need to be updated, and hopefully, they are available in 64 bit versions.

Yea, it’s important to be very specific here and since you’ve been on XP for so long it probably bears repeating what is now obvious to those of us using a 64-bit OS.
You can continue to use the 32-bit version of Vegas Pro 10c on a 64-bit OS and everything will continue to work fine assuming that any third part plug-ins you purchased will install on your new OS. The problem with this is that the 32-bit version of Vegas Pro 10c is still limited to 2GB of memory so you gain no benefit from upgrading to a 64-bit OS. It’s only when you also upgrade to the 64-bit version Vegas Pro 10c can you take advantage of the additional memory but then you also need to upgrade any third party plug-ins to 64-bit.

Does anyone know if Vegas will honor upgrade pricing from 10? Does he have to wait for the next upgrade offer?
I only paid full price once, back when I bought SVP9. Ever since then I’ve watched closely and got in on the $139.00 upgrade; just had to time it right when the new versions were released.
