Media Encoder sets the wrong bitrate and field ordereven after specifying manually
Hello all,
I have a small AE project that I need to render through Adobe Media Encoder CS$ due to the fact that I need it to upload automatically to an ftp server.
I am customizing my settings according to the following specs sent by the broadcaster to my client, so he sent them to me:
– 720 x 480 @ 29.97 fps (NTSC) - frame aspect ratio: 4:3 - pixel aspect ratio: 0.9
Upper/Top/Odd field first
Codec: AVC H.264 (Main Profile 3.0), MPEG-2 (Main Profile @ Main Level), Uncompressed/RAW (except V210/10-bit)
Bitrate: At least 6Mbps (CBR). 12Mbps is recommended —I first had a lot of trouble trying to move AME default setting for the bitrate from VBR 1 to CBR, it crashed every time I tried, until it worked around the fifth time.
From there everything seemed to be fine until I started the encoding, despite the fact that I had manually changed the bitrate from 10 to 12 and the filed order from lower to upper, when I got the final file the bitrate was at 10 and there was no field order, the file was progressive scan.
Does anybody knows what’s going on with Media Encoder? I was using it a lot to send sequences from Premiere, but now I am afraid that those may had been incorrectly rendered too. Is it still to buggy to be a reliable encoder or am I doing something wrong. I’m on Leopard btw.
