    Hi guys,

I have a big problem with my videos on youtube. They seem to be blurry while moving. Here is an example (pleae ignore sound, its in Czech):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0eZze-HILw

I use Fraps for taking videos from games and I usually shoot them with 30 FPS. After that I use Sony Vegas Pro 12 to render my videos. Here is settings of my project (I always disable resampling):

and here is my rendering settings (I use MainConcept AVC/AAC and Internet HD 1080p):

    https://s27.postimg.org/hkizu0qxv/nastaveni_renderovani.jpg

You can see from render settings that I used very high variable bitrate. I also tried couple things like setting constant bit rate to 28 000 000 but it didn’t help. I tried even higher bit rate 50 000 000 and it didn’t help either. The video looked very sharp and good but when I uploaded it to youtube, it also looked very blurry while moving the object in the game. The video above is rendered with constant bitrate 28 000 000.

Can you please help me and give me some hints what could be wrong in my settings/project? Thanks.

    M.

Try disabling resample on all the events on the timeline,
    then you render.

Youtube re-encodes your videos down to about 7-8Mbps bitrate for 1080. Low bitrate can soften up your video in area where little compression is available. Fast moving stuff is one of those situations.

Since your media is at 30fps and you are encoding at 29.97fps you should have resampling disabled on all media. Better yet, encode your video at exactly 30fps. The drop down does not list an exact 30fps but you can enter a value into the field.

Dont know what then youtube is doing in their re-encoding
    process now-a-days.

    Norman, this is fascinating.

I have been frustrated for many years as to why my videos on YT have bad motion distortion of many kinds – ghosting, tearing, etc. Also happens to some extent on Vimeo. But, many “pro” videos, particularly movie trailers, seem to not exhibit the problem.

I know that there are many facets to “perfect” YT quality, but I have always rendered at 29.97 . I’ll have to try setting it to 30 – but is this a good idea when the source footage is 29.97?

Also, do you know if the “Upload to Youtube” renders at 30?

BTW, still no response from Sony on that bug with Google+ pages breaking the Upload to YT. I just opened a support ticket for that – is there another way to file an actual bug report?

I only mentioned 30fps since the original posters sources were said to be 30fps.

Render at the same frame rate as your source. However, If your source is above 30fps then you should render 30fps or below. The online service will resample to 30 and lower for you so why not take control of that yourself. i.e. If your source is 59.94 then render at 29.97.
