Activity Forums VEGAS Pro How would you do this transition?

Ron, I think we call this a “wipe” (?)

You follow the edge of the door on the incoming scene with a mask and let it overtake the outgoing scene.

I don’t use AE, but Fusion does it marvelously easily. SVP can likely do it, too, but I find its masking tools cumbersome.

That’s what I was thinking as well…that it was some sort of a “wipe” effect.

I’m wondering if I can rotoscope it in mocha for AE, then bring it into AE? Or would that be overkill?

    Anyone?

I think rotoscoping is killing a roach with a bazooka.

Just use a mask and follow the door as it opens. Probably take you five minutes!

Yes, I do this a lot. We have ALL the transitions already captured – in the camera! With a little thought it’s all available. And yes, I saw the Sherlock, and gave a mental wink:nod to the editor.

BTW, great series. Proud to be a Brit with that one.

The whole rotoscoping idea is overkill Ron, you can easily
take your time and achieve a decent result in Vegas.
