  • Where Did These Black Bars Come From?????

Posted by Ken Bennett on January 17, 2014 at 12:30 am

I just opened up a photo montage that was completed to check on something. When I loaded it, all the images now have black pillars on the sides. Where the hell did they come from? I can’t find any cause for this.

What happened? Need an answer quick because it was to be delivered tomorrow.

    Thanks.

Source is JPG images that were set to Match Output Ratio which is set to 1440×1080. The images fill the screen 100%. Prop is set to HDV1080-60i (1440×1080..)

Strange…. Then just check that Match Output Aspect is
re-enabled in the Track motion maybe.

I did that and it still leaves the pillars. Even though the images dotted outline is all inside the 16×9 frame. The pillars appear on all 3 tracks of photos but not on the one track of video clips.

Odd indeed…. And each of the photos has Match output Aspect enabled?

[Ken Bennett] “Source is JPG images that were set to Match Output Ratio which is set to 1440×1080. The images fill the screen 100%. Prop is set to HDV1080-60i (1440×1080..)”

1440×1080 uses a PAR of 1.3333. Images have a PAR of 1.000. What happens if you change your project properties to 1920×1080 PAR 1.000 and reset the crop and then reapply Match Output Aspect? That should fix it.
