I’m capturing M2T files from my Canon XH-A1s using Sony Vegas Pro 12… should I convert the M2T files to some other format before editing and final render to get better quality or is the quality of the M2T files just fine?

My videos do just fine with the files produced by the camera. I don’t think that converting to another format can improve the video.

HDV files should edit very smoothly in Vegas Pro even with a modest computer. I see no need to convert them.
