  Can you make custom transition effects?

  I’ve been playing around in Vegas 10 Pro and I quite like the idea of using transitions sometimes. But I was wondering if you can make your own in any way?

  I’d quite like to have a transition that looks like the battle swirl from Final Fantasy 7 (Basically the video blurs with a swirly distortion effect for a second).

  Packages. Motion Blends has exactly the effect you are looking for.

  To answer your original question, there is no way to create your own transitions unless you are a programmer. There is an SDK that you can download but unless you’re a software developer you won’t be able to do it.

  I don’t know the transition that you are considering, but you can get pretty creative with tools in Vegas. Look at this thread.
