  I need to stretch clips so I can see them better

  On my timeline, there are many split clips joined together and some of the clips are only a few seconds long.
  The clips in the timeline are so small/skinny and I can hardly click on the one I want properly with my mouse.
  How do I stretch the clips so I can see them better without having an affect on the video?
  I am running on windows 8

  Use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out on the timeline at the desired location.

  Just as Mike said, but to further clarify, put the cursor
  directly on the timeline where you want to zoom in, then
  use the mouse scroll.
