    Greetings

I am putting together a video for a conference in a large hall (1500 pers) to be shown on a 12 x 4 meter screen.

The venue uses a Barco Folsom Encore for projection.

I am doing the main video in 1080 – 1920. I will try to figure out some way of filling out the outer thirds of the screen, though at present I am not sure exactly how.

I am shooting a lot of footage on a gopro hero3 using 2.7k protune mode. Very heavy files!

Gopro’s CineForm Studio makes for a convenient way of trimming and tweaking hero3 footage and modifying the fisheye perspective – much easier than bringing it all in to Vegas and doing proxies. CineForm (the basic/free model which I have) does an mp4 export which brings about, even at the highest available quality setting, a 10:1 reduction in file size.

These mp4s edit very smoothly in Vegas Pro 12, but I am worried how they might look through the Barco.

I am shooting the rest of the footage on a GH2 in AVCHD Cinema mode. These are also fairly smooth in Vegas without the need to proxify them – but quite a bit larger than the cineform generated mp4s.

    My questions are:

    1. Can I use the CineForm generated MP4s without noticeable degradation on the large screen?
    2. What would those of you with experience in these matters suggest for wrapper/codec for the Barco?

    Thanks for any suggestions
