  Recording deck for Sony FS100 to Vegas

  I’m thinking of getting an FS100 soon but can’t seem to find a recording deck (for recording to 4:2:2 color) that records to a codec Vegas uses, at least without first converting it to another codec. Just about everything seems to record to ProRes.

  Anyone know of a deck that will do this? Also, it would help if it’s something I could run while in a backpack so I can do handheld shooting.

  Vegas can ingest ProRes, it just can’t render to it because Apple doesn’t supply a ProRes encoder for Windows. I would ask the manufacturer of the deck to supply you with some sample files so that you can test them just to be sure.

  I even read somewhere that it removes the pulldown from the HDMI signal, though I’m contacting Convergent Design to be sure.
