July 2, 2013 at 4:39 pmI have no idea, but Google is your friend. See if there are any reviews about the site from customers that have purchased from them.

July 2, 2013 at 4:48 pmResellerratings.com gives Ultrabooks a 10/10 rating. Their best. Even B&H which is the US top choice for video gear only gets a 9.73 out of ten.
Is it a good editing computer? I don’t know since I never edit on a laptop. I sit at a desk with three 21-inch monitors.

July 2, 2013 at 7:11 pmIm not seeing anything really that would make it a fake site.
And that is a decent laptop to handle your Vegas edits on.
I at times use Vegas flawlessly on laptops far way less

July 17, 2013 at 6:09 amI tried to buy a laptop from them and they wanted payment by bank transfer. They offered a £250 discount if I did not use a credit card. They even sent a PayPal invoice but I don’t trust the site and cancelled the order.

July 17, 2013 at 2:11 pmWow, am I embarrassed. My earlier response regarding Relellerratings.com was for the UK firm: Ultrabooks. Not Ultraboooks.
Ultrabooks has a good rating, Ultraboooks is unknown to resellerratings.com. It’s not uncommon for a scam site to use a misspelling of otherwise good retailers to trap the unwary. It’s probably good that you cancelled the order. If you gave a credit card number you may consider cancelling that card.Steve Mann

August 5, 2013 at 2:34 pmI bought Toshiba Qosmio X870 from ultraboooks. I was a bit wary at first since they offered a discounted price for bank transfer paying customers only hence i paid a little bit more using PayPal just to be secure since the price was still lower than retail. My order was received within a week. Our office since ordered another Qosmio this time X70 and we used bank transfer payment method this time around. Again we received it in about 6-7 days. Hence so far so good.

April 8, 2016 at 9:30 amHas anyone bought a laptop / notebook from a company called Ultraboooks.com ? If you are thinking of doing so you should read this.
I believed at first that Ultraboooks.com was a genuine UK based company, they have a very nice looking website which comes up when using Google Shopping UK and they state that they are in the UK, There is a online assistant window which pops up and a helpful person helps you make your choice. I took advice from them that the best notebook for video editing is a Samsung Pro and to be fair it does get very good reviews. So I went ahead and bought one from them.
Then afterwards I noticed the spelling of the name: Ultarboooks with 3 x letter o not Ultrabooks 2 x letter o. So I did some checking, stupidly after I had sent them £1600.00 by bank transfer.
I found out that their address in Paul Street, London is just a mail redirect service as is there UK phone number. So I am worried at this point, further checking on google and via some scamchecking sites shows the website is not trustworthy and it’s based in America but sometimes Australia. Now my emails to the previously helpful person Jamie White (made up name?) Are being ignored at this stage and I am wondering if I’ve been scammed.
I checked with Samsung who say that they do not sell notebooks in Europe and haven’t done so since 2014. A Samsung warranty therefore may be difficult to uphold in the UK. If the laptop arrives and turns out to be a grey import, sending a faulty item back will be difficult, in fact impossible because there is no known address for Ultraboooks.
But then, surprise! 5 days later my Samsung Pro notebook arrived! Shipped from Jersey City USA by a V Alexis, with the package description stating the contents is a case with a value for import duty of just $20.00. The seal on the box had been cut and a UK mains adapter had been plugged onto the mains USA plug.
The notebook is clearly brand new in its original packaging and still had that static thing going on with the screen and alloy etc. I was concerned about it having a virus or trojan or something because understandably I have no trust in Ultraboooks.com, however I plugged it in, switched it on and set up windows 10. The notebook is absolutely fine as far as I can tell. Great 4k screen and it’s a quality bit of kit. I have since sent Ultraboooks emails asking for a VAT receipt and information on the warranty but I am ignored.
So it’s a bit of a rip off on price, I cant claim any VAT back and I’ve effectively got no warranty but it could easily have been a total loss situation. Is it safe to keep using this notebook? I’m guessing so.

March 14, 2017 at 7:21 pmSimilar to Roger Baileys incident:
Whilst their website looks nice and their ‘team’ will gladly help you choose a laptop in their online chat box, once the money is in their hands you will have no more help from ultrabooks.com, nor will you have an invoice to claim Vat back, nor will you have sufficient proof when approaching the producer of the product to claim your warranty on your purchase.
Ultrabooks.com whilst hiding behind the guise of a nice website is most probably a single individual importing products from abroad, and just sending it to you directly.
Having bought a Laptop at a premium price in August of 2016 for work, I soon found the laptop to be faulty, and clearly a fault of the manufacturer . For months now I’ve been trying to get it fixed, as its still covered under warranty.Key Notes:
– Ultrabooks.com will give you no support once purchase is made.
– My account with Ultrabooks still has my purchase as ‘processing’ and am yet to receive a Invoice with company details.
– Paperwork provided has been deemed insufficient and will not be recognised by asus.
– Having sent over 30 emails and further chased with phone calls I have had 2 replies. Both of which have been unsubstantial and unhelpful.
– Asus UK will not cover the warranty of any products purchased through Ultrabooks.
– Only once having said I will write bad reviews did Ultrabooks contact me. A single email was given in reply asking what the problem was and I have heard nothing since.
– They simply do not care. Will you get something: Probably
If you have a problem : You’re on your own
