I hope there is an easy fix for a problem that’s been bugging me in VP12 when I load a scene onto the timeline. The video is always about 1.5 times longer than the audio. When I play the extra video after the end of the audio, I see that the last frame freezes at the point of the end of the audio and extends about a third of the length in a freeze frame of the last frame. I have to drag the end of the video back to delete the extended freeze frame and snap it to the last frame of the audio (which is the proper length of the shot)
This happens EVERY TIME. Does anyone have this problem and hopefully an easy fix?
    Thanks,
    Jerry

I’m not sure this is the problem but try changing your Time Format to something like SMPTE Drop.
Right click where the minutes/seconds/frames are and you’ll get a menu of choices.

    First, turn off Auto Ripple.
    What is the file format?
Does the file play properly in an external player, like VLC?

The file is .MOV shot at 72Mb/s, I-Frame codex, 1080p/24p from a Lumix G3. I don’t have auto-ripple on. The drop-down next to the auto-ripple button is checked “Affected Tracks”.

It plays fine in VP12 or outside of VP12 in Quicktime. The only problem is when it gets to the timeline and it stretches out in freeze frame after the shot ends. When I drag it back to size to match the length of the audio (proper length), everything plays fine.

I just adjusted the various time choices with the time-line counter and nothing solved the problem.

I’ve just learned to live with the annoyance until VP13 comes out. From what I’ve learned, it has to do with the high-bit rate .mov file from the Lumix GH3.
I just trim my shot in the trimmer (ignoring the extra freeze frame picture length) then drop my trimmed shot onto the timeline and have no problem.
