  • SONY Vegas 10 – Will it work on new Win7 64-bit machine?

I just had a new PC built with a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. Do I need to get another version of SONY Vegas 10 or will it also function on 64-bit architecture?

While you can run the 32 bit version of Pro 10, why would you when there’s a 64 bit version. Fortunately it’s free for registered Vegas users.

If all of your plug-ins are 32-bit. 😉 I ran the 32-bit versions of Vegas Pro for a long time until I upgraded all of my plug-ins to be 64-bit and I still have some that are not. 🙁

Having said that… I agree with Mike. If you can, just run the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro 10.0.

Thanks for the reminder John. I was lucky in that I didn’t have any 32 bit plugins to worry about. Having said that, I have both the 32 and 64 bit versions installed just in case a student comes in with a project that uses a 32 bit plugin.

get x64 and be happy using all your machine’s memory power. x32 applications can use only… 4? i guess it is 4 gb of memory. they just can’t see more. switching to x64 you can boost on whatever you have.
