cant import MOV, can’t successfully convert MOV to MPG2
Hello,
I have Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 6 (I know, old) and can’t import an MOV file (will import audio only). However, I do have one MOV file that it WILL import (an animated logo I got from work). And, I use a Canon 5DIII and Vegas won’t touch those MOV’s either. Cant figure out why it will import one MOV and not the other. I suppose not all MOV’s are exactly equal?
Also, I have tried two converters, Any Video Converter and Super Converter, and both render the MOV to MPG bad quality. Is there a way to convert MOV to something that Vegas will recognize, and in good quality?

Only thing i can assume is that, that old version of Vegas
cant decode that new mov format..(not all mov’s are the same Rodney)You can however try making sure you have the latest version of

Even having a newer version of QuickTime on your machine is no guarantee that you’ll be able to open them.
For example, my home machine has Pro 8, 9 and 10 on it. MOV files that won’t open in Pro 8 open just fine in Pro 10 so Steve’s suggestion about updating is very valid.
You do realize that you can upgrade to the newest version of only $65 direct from Sony.

Upgrading Vegas would also be a wise move.
