Default layout, same as color correction layout.
Hello, I recently re-installed Vegas 10.0 and my layout is all wrong. Its divided in tabs which I can drag left and right but nothing else. There is no preview window in upper right, video/audio tracks are not at the bottom where they should be, when I click default layout and color correction layout, it stays exactly the same. Any help please? Sorry if this is an easy fix, I just can’t believe that resetting to default doesn’t give me the layout I have used for years.

David, in all my years of using Vegas, I have never come across that problem.
I tried several different combinations and preference settings to see if I could get it to look like that and couldn’t find any.
Try a master reset of Vegas. Start it up while holding down the SHIFT and CTRL keys. In theory this resets everything back to default.
If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling Vegas once again.
Make sure that nothing else is running at that time, even your anti-virus software, and disconnect from the internet. -
So Sorry to be posting here again but I really don’t have any other place to turn I have spent literally all day looking for a solution and I can’t even find anyone that has my “unique” and unfortunate layout. So today, I installed Vegas 11, thinking my 10 went corrupt or something. To my surprise, I am greeted with the exact same screen when booting up. Have tried holding shift and CTRL when starting up, does the same as when I click default view under the view menu. If I hit default view, it will remove those 3 boxes you see in the middle (Trimmer, Video preview, master Bus)… The fact that I went to a completely new version of Vegas and am having this problem. I’m just sort of lost at the moment.

FIXED! So I am on a triple monitor setup which I didn’t think mattered, but I THINK when installing, Vegas scans your resolution and builds the layout from those numbers. I was able to drag the timeline up from the bottom of the window, the preview and master volume from the right. Again, not sure why this happened becasue there wasn’t even “tabs”. I had to drag these elements entirely from the side of the application window where it looked like nothing was present or being minimized. Sorry for the trouble but thank you all anyways =)
